Countdown to Halloween, Day 16: Graveyard

Nothing says Halloween like a graveyard. Either in picture…

…or song:

BONUS GRAVE! Here’s Neil Gaiman, reading the first chapter of his awesomely Halloweenie children’s novel, The Graveyard Book. Gaiman is sometimes a shade too clever (alright, cute) for his own good, but the sheer macabre inventiveness of this book wins me over. If it had existed when I was a kid, it would no doubt have been my favorite book ever. This first chapter doesn’t show its imaginative power to best advantage, I don’t think, but you know… You’ve gotta start somewhere, and it might as well be at the beginning…
