Countdown to Halloween, Day Nine: Mysterious Mose at the Graveyard Jamboree

We love all eras of Halloween music here on the Dork Forty, and so tonight’s entry in the big Halloween mix tape reaches back to the 1930s for the nerd wrangler favorite, “Mysterious Mose.” Of course, we’re also reaching back to 1998, and a seriously Hallow-riffic puppet/stop-motion short called Graveyard Jamboree, which starred this happy fellow…

…and featured a period recording of tonight’s song.

(BONUS MOSE: Graveyard Jamboree wasn’t the first use of “Mysterious Mose” in an animated short, either. That honor goes to Miss Betty Boop, who was scared right out of her nightgown by Our Halloween Hero…)
